| Cholla cactus at sunset near Troon North Golf Course in North
Scottsdale, Arizona. If you look closely you may see the bird's nest in
the cactus. When roasted, the flower buds of the Cholla cactus
taste like artichokes, but be careful of the spines! |

| A close-up of the beautiful Amaryllis flower. This photo was
taken at night using the light painting technique. The light
source was a LED flashlight. |

| Tiny Paper White flowers have a little smiley face if you look close
enough. This photo was taken at night using the light painting
technique. The light source was a LED flashlight. |

| Sunset over the famous Cliffs of Moher in County Clare on the
Atlantic coast of Ireland. Thousands of years of crashing ocean waves
have carved these cliffs, caves and monuments at land's edge. At the
highest point the cliffs are over 600 feet high and run about 6 miles
along the coast--a beautiful site to see. The Cliffs of Moher are home
to very large numbers of cliff nesting seabirds that use the cliffs as
protection from predators. |

| Swallowtail butterfly. There are over 500 different species of
the Swallowtail. The Swallowtail is one of the hardest butterflies
to photograph because they remain in constant motion. Be ready with a
fast shutter speed and a steady hand. |

| Pinnacle Peak in North Scottsdale, Arizona near sunset.
This photo was made with the high dynamic range (HDR) technique where
you take several different exposures of the same subject and then use
software to layer them into one photo. The resulting image shows a wider
range of highlights and shadows than a single digital photo would.
Sometimes photos using this technique almost look 3D. |

| French Perfume Rose--one of our favorite roses. This photo was
taken at night using the light painting technique. The source of
light is a LED flashlight. |
| In Ireland, the Hawthorn Tree is highly respected
as "faery" (fairy) trees and to this day, there are farmers who don't
cultivate near the trees to avoid contact with the roots, for fear of
offending the fairies that inhabit the tree. This photo was taken in the
Burren area near the
Pounabrone Megalithic Tomb which dates back to about 3200 BC. This
area is located in the NW corner of County Clare, Ireland and is known
for its very unusual limestone formations.
